Weather of Plum Rain ~ Japan

The weather is humid and hot. It seems that the plum rain extends to the summer. The season of the plum rains or, misleadingly, intermittent drizzle, is a special meteorological phenomenon of the middle and lowland areas of the Yangtze River. Usually, the plum rain season starts in the middle of June and ends in early July, lasting for about 20 days. The climate during this season is characterized by continuous rain and hot temperatures.

Japanese and Chinese characters for the plum rains are identical. Oh, Japan, I went to Japan last weekend. I think I was crazy and made the decision in an hour.

It was my first trip to Japan, with my friend's phone # and the name of the bus stop close to her home. I was questioned for a while at the immigration as I don't know my friend's address and her name - She got married with a Japanese and changed her name.

I stayed one night at my friend's place, a small town about 1.5hr from Tokyo, with her family including her 70yrs fashionable mother-in-law; and another night at a hot spring inn at famous Hakone. I regret that I had no time for shopping except at the airport DFS since the flight was 1hr late. I don't even know what Tokyo looks like as I fell asleep when the bus passed the city.

My hubby was pretty upset when he learnt my trip as he always wants to go to Japan. This time not only couldn't he go but also he has to pay the bill - I don't have a credit card in China ;)
