Cell Phone & Short Message

When I first came back to China, I didn't know how to send short message by cell phone. My friends laughed at me about my out-of-date.

I got it later that it is very useful. E.g. my bank sends me the notification whenever I use my credit card; my travel agency confirms my booking with the address of the hotel; I use a website like Zagat to select the restaurant and click "short message me" to store the location and suggested selections of the restaurant; the organizor could send the gathering information to every participant at once; and of course, we use it to vote.

It is very difficult to choose when you have so many choices. In North America, when you want to buy a cell phone, you may choose one from 10 to 20 style maximum. In China, there may be 2000 style. I was faint when I first went to the store and wanted to buy a cell phone. I didn't know which one I want.
